The 9th edition of Advanced Biofuels Conf., 20-21 September 2023

As global economies began to come back to business, energy security and security of supply have come high on the international agenda. Climate reduction is a challenge but for the transportation sector, biofuels have remerged as one of the available now alternatives to address both short-term fuel shortages, and medium-term greenhouse gas reduction. Biofuels are back on the road again!

The aviation and shipping sectors are being transformed at an increasingly rapid pace, on both the demand and supply side. Oil and gas majors are retrofitting existing refinery assets to produce renewable fuels while others are developing new capacities from a myriad of feedstock sources. Pushed by policymakers and consumers alike, airline- and shipping majors are committing to significant renewable fuel offtakes in the race to zero while competing to stay in the black.

This conference gathers leading actors and stakeholders in the global biofuels industry. This is where you gain insights and meet market players and people active to develop new projects. Biobased electrofuels and the developing electrification of the transport sector complement towards a fossil exit.

The conference will show latest developments in European and international policy, energy system transition to renewable fuels, new technologies and partnerships – with leading companies presented.

Biogas Congress & Expo

Biogas Congress & Expo 16-17 May, 2023, Brussels

Decarbonisation, net zero and energy security are set to be crucial topics in 2023 with renewable gas taking centre stage in helping companies and governments meet their goals.

Following on from the European Parliament’s recent target of 45% renewable energy consumption by 2030 and the EU’s REPowerEU plan to secure Europe’s energy future, now is the time for power producers, pellet companies, wood producers, governments, biomass organisations and technology companies to come together to discuss a way forward.

With the above in mind, Bioenergy Insight magazine is pleased to announce a return to Brussels for its annual International Biomass Congress and Expo 16-17 May.

Last year saw over 350 participants attend the three co-hosted events covering biomass, biogas and biofuels, and May’s meeting promises to be even larger.

The event will bring together leading producers, suppliers, regulators and other engaged organisations over a two-day period. High-level speakers, experts in their field, will address a range of topical issues relating to the biomass sector.

Confirmed speakers include Enviva, Bioenergy Europe, Suez Trading, Ence Energia, Graanul Invest, Jalo-Biopellets plus many others.

Topics to be addressed will cover:

  • European wood pellet market – where will the supply come from?
  • How can biomass sustain its place as an integral consideration in Europe’s biopower mix?
  • Sustainable pellet production
  • The role of bioenergy within the European Green Deal
  • Biomass in lignofuels and SAF…plus much, much more.
